At Bayphil Earthworks, health and safety is a core part of how we operate on every project. We are committed to providing a safe working environment for our team, clients, and the surrounding community, and we take a proactive approach to managing risk across all excavation and earthworks activities.
BayPhil staff are put through Sitesafe, First Aid, at Risk work and other courses relevant to Health & Safety.
All Bayphil staff are trained in Site Safe, First Aid, and high-risk work practices, with ongoing training completed as required. We ensure our team holds the relevant licences, competencies, and experience for the work they carry out, supported by a documented training matrix.

Prior to commencing any project, we complete site-specific risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS). Regular toolbox talks are held, and safety documentation is continuously reviewed and updated as site conditions change.
We work closely with clients, councils, and other project stakeholders from the initial planning stages through to project completion. Where required, we coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and other professionals to ensure all earthworks are carried out in accordance with approved plans, building consents, and council requirements.

Our goal is simple — Zero Harm. We are committed to continually improving our health and safety systems and maintaining best practice standards across all aspects of our work.
Bayphil Earthworks is SiteWise Gold Status approved and maintains a strong working relationship with WorkSafe New Zealand, ensuring our health and safety practices remain compliant, effective, and up to date.
